Let us know how you feel!
Yes, please, please…The DeKalb County Board of Education is irresponsible if they do not give the boot to Crawford Lewis. The school system is like a ship without a rudder. I graduated in 1983 from Southwest DeKalb. I remember when the school system was considered one of the best in Georgia…if not THE best!!! I am thinking of running for the school board. Something has to be done!!!
Crawford Lewis should have been fired by the DeKalb County Board of Ed. years ago. In next election, I am going to work against ALL of the board members (esp. Sarah Copelin-Wood) if Crawford Lewis is still the superintendent. My husband and I will knock on doors!!!!!
Please let me know when you intend to get started. I share your feelings and have heard some distrubing news this morning while conducting business at the county school board. He should have never been hired. It seems that our schools are suffering as a result of his lack of experience. Central Dekalb county schools seems to be getting the worse of everything.
Crawford Lewis needs to be fired by the Dekalb County Board of Education. The DeKalb County School System will never improve under this man. Uh!!! I am so tired of Crawford Lewis!
That thing should have been gone years ago. I knew the second that thing was named it spelled the down fall for the school system.
Nell, we agree. Dr. Jim Williams, former Deputy Superintendent, should have been named the new DeKalb superintendent back when Lewis was fatefully selected. He is far and away superior in his admininistrative and people skills than Crawford Lewis. Dr. Jim Williams is a man of great integrity and character. But, it appears that Crawford Lewis sucked up to some key school board members, and they apparently chose him because they felt they could control him. Dr. Williams just quietly and gracefully retired. He probably knew what was coming down the pike. The MACE union has been right about Crawford Lewis all along. He is indeed a joke and so is that lawyer Josey Alexander!
Yes, Crawford Lewis MUST go! If not him, then the whole DeKalb County Board of Education MUST to thrown out of office!
My child is tormented each day by bullies in the Dekalb schools. I have complained over and over to no avail. I wish I had money for private school. The Dekalb school board needs to get rid of Crawford Lewis.
Jill, we feel your pain, but we fear that as long as Crawford Lewis is Superintendent of the DeKalb County School System that not much (if any) improvement will be forthcoming.
Bullyism, nepotism, cheatism, illegalism…the true marks of the Crawford Lewis administration in the DeKalb County School System.
i was hoping when crawford lewis became superintendent after johnny brown that he would be better. i think that he is worse.
crawford lewis is an educational joke!!!
Crawford Lewis is a hypocrite, a terrible superintendent, and I agree with the teachers union that calls him a “candy ass.”
Wow! After watching this SLOB on Fox justify spending 400K of the Stimulus funds letting his teachers go on a Road Trip to Hollywood versus buying books and supplies for the classroom.
This creature is a Parasite on the system but no one will dare throwing him out because of race.
And the cycle continues of creating stupid adults!
DeKalb County School System cares only about looking good on paper. They do not care whether students learn, particular students in South DeKalb, as evidenced by the number of students who are socially promoted from year to year.
In addition, Crawford Lewis and his entire leadership team are afraid to use their political will to hold teachers and parents accountable for ensuring the academic excellence for all students. For the sake of it’s children, DeKalb County Public Schools needs courageous leadership. DeKalb will never be “premier” under Lewis’s leadership.

LEGEL FEES IF THERE ARE ANY!
Dekalb is more polarized racially than ever before. The school system needed someone who could bring the north and south part of the county together, and that didn’t happen with Crawford. James Hallford was able to control some of the racial tensions, but Dekalb has been a hornets nest ever since they got rid of the M to M busing.
